Are xbox 360 slims reliable?

Well ive been planning on getting one and would like to know if microsoft fixed the problems their old 360's had. After i saw that their releasing a gears of war 3 console in red and black i felt for sure im buying one and sold my ps3. Anyone had problems with slims yet. In the past i had gones threw 3 xboxes until i gave up and said fuc#% microsoft but i will be getting their new slim hoping its better and longer lasting just as a ps3, sony has some realiable electronics but microsoft i dont know
